ABOUT US
Building a Better Everyday, Responsibly
Our
Sustainability
Commitment
For more than 35 years, Greenfield Global has produced high-purity alcohols, specialty chemicals, and renewable fuels that power essential products worldwide. As a privately held company, we take the long view, investing in measurable environmental progress, operational excellence, and the communities we serve.
We integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into each of our business units and across our global operations. Our approach is pragmatic and data‑driven: set clear goals, invest in projects with verified impact, and report progress transparently. Over the last decade, we’ve invested more than $15 million in R&D and planning to advance key carbon-reduction projects.
What this looks like in practice:
- Plan and prioritize: cross‑functional teams identify initiatives with both emissions impact and sound financial return.
- Measure and disclose: we track Scope 1 and 2 emissions and publicly report results in our annual Sustainability ESG report.
- Invest in the future: as a privately held company with 35+ years of experience, we invest in long-term projects for resilience and measurable outcomes.

Environmental Leadership
We help customers meet their sustainability goals by offering lower-carbon products. *
To protect the climate and life as we know it, scientists say carbon dioxide must return to below 350 parts per million. No single company can achieve this alone—everyone has a part to play.
At Greenfield Global, we’re lowering the carbon intensity of our products and operations through projects that deliver real, verifiable emissions reductions. We are committed to:
- reducing scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions 30% below 2024 levels by 2030
- reducing scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions 60% below 2024 levels by 2030
These targets keep us focused on doing our part to move the world closer to the 350-ppm goal.
We monitor energy and water use in our facilities monthly and invest in technology that improves sustainability:
- Our Ireland facility was one of the first buildings in Europe constructed to meet NZEB (Near Zero Energy Building) criteria.
- We partially own and operate SEMECS, one of North America’s largest anaerobic digestion facilities, which converts 120,000 metric tons of municipal organic waste into renewable natural gas each year.
- Over $15 million invested over the past 10 years in R&D and planning to advance key carbon-reduction projects
Quality is foundational. Our systems are independently audited and certified (e.g., ISO 9001, EXCiPACT, and food-safety standards as applicable). We maintain regulatory compliance across global markets and provide documentation to support customer audits and regulatory submissions.
